About this massage oil

No added fragrance, and nut oils to know about

This is our massage oil for anyone who would rather smell nothing: coconut oil, fractionated coconut oil (MCT oil) and sunflower oil, with macadamia nut oil and sweet almond oil, and no fragrance added. It feels light and sinks in like the other coconut-base oils.

No added fragrance does not mean nut-free. The label lists macadamia and sweet almond, both tree nuts, so if a nut allergy is the reason you are looking at unscented, look at the coconut or vanilla oil instead. The American Academy of Dermatology also notes that unscented products can still hold fragrance-related ingredients, so test it first like any new oil.

Before it goes on skin

It lists macadamia and sweet almond oil, and allergists advise people with a tree nut allergy to avoid skin products made with nut oils. Try it on a quarter-sized spot on the inner arm twice a day for 7 to 10 days first, as dermatologists suggest. It is an oil, and oil weakens latex: keep it away from latex and polyisoprene condoms.

Questions

About the Nooky Unscented Massage Oil

Will you avoid nuts with the Nooky Unscented Massage Oil?

No. It has no added fragrance, but the label lists macadamia nut oil and sweet almond oil next to coconut, MCT and sunflower oil.

Why should you test the Nooky unscented oil if it has no scent?

Because skin can still react to an oil. The American Academy of Dermatology suggests a quarter-sized spot on the inner arm twice a day for 7 to 10 days before using any new skin product widely.
